What makes Women of the Bible, Alive unique are the 15 women involved in this ministry. We are different ages, different races, different religions and different personalities. Some are married. Some are single. Some have children and grandchildren. Some have newborns. Some have careers. Some have made their family their career. All have one thing in common, a love for God and a deep affection for the women whose stories we tell.

A closer look at a few of our presenters........

 

                                                                                    Gloria Rink

 

Gloria, wife, mother and grandmother is the  founder and director of

Women of the Bible, Alive.

She has worked in Religious Education in Baltimore for 36 years.

Gloria says, "I love the Women of the Bible, Alive ministry that God has given us. I thank God for menopause which I credit for the drive and creativity to form this ministry. I have such a love for the women of the Bible whose stories we tell and for each of the women who use their talents to tell these stories."  Gloria is the narrator, "Gloria in Excelsis Deo".

 

Dareen McGloin 

Dareen, wife mother and grandmother, has been with Women of the Bible, Alive for 10 years. She is a secretary.  Dareen says, "Acting and telling the stories of Bible women has given me such freedom. I feel a deep sisterhood with the other members of our cast. My spirituality has grown deeper. I see other women being empowered, and those less fortunate being helped through our charitable donations." Dareen tells the stories of Abigail, the Woman at the Well and the Woman with the Hemorrhage among others.

 

Twana Keene

Twana has been with Women of the Bible, Alive for 9 years. She is a wife and busy mother of 3. Twana says, "Performing with Women of the Bible, Alive has given me

an opportunity to express and strengthen my Christian believes,"

Twana tells the story of Hagar, Abigail and the Woman at the Well.

 

Juliana Simmons Kopec

Juliana, mother and grandmother, has been with Women of the Bible, Alive for  10 years. She is a retired physician.

Juliana says, "I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Women of the Bible, Alive. Most of my life is filled with my profession and family. Performing gives me a chance to be actively involved in ministry of a different sort. The camaraderie with the other women as we prepare for and deliver our roles is truly fun. To see the women for whom we perform open up and drink in the stories, is inspiring to all of us, especially as they are more likely to see that they themselves have stories to tell of how God has worked in their own lives."

Juliana tells the stories of Naomi, Dorcas and Elizabeth.

 

Bonnie Williams

Bonnie, has been with Women of the Bible, Alive for 9 1/2 years. She is a single woman whose professions are nursing and teaching. Bonnie's hobbies include; doll collecting and music, both singing and listening.

Bonnie says, "Being part of Women of the Bible, Alive has helped me to develop spiritually and to take part in faith sharing."

Bonnie tells the stories of Sarah and Miriam, & the Woman with the Hemorrhage.

 

Lisa Sullivan

Lisa has been with Women of the Bible, Alive for 9 years. She is single, a high school teacher of theater and religion.

Lisa says, "Being a part of Women of the Bible, Alive has given me the rare opportunity of combining my love of God and His Church with my love of the performing arts. I find it very unusual for these two to come together. We share wonderful stories of God's grace to overcome any obstacle in our life."

Lisa tells the stories of Ruth, Mary Magdalene and Bathsheba.
